"Eroding Cliffs" Sold
Summer is here and well,  why not paint the beach!
This scene was painted in  Laguna Beach.  One of my
favorite spots for it's beautiful cliffs and azure blue
waters.  This scene is steps from downtown so you
really don't have to hike around too far to be able to
paint such breath taking views.

I just discovered your blog and I'm glad I did so as your paintings are beautiful. I love the quality of the water in this one and the strong contrasts on the rocks. Thanks for sharing!

Love the colors in the water. Your rocks are well done as well. I have such trouble with rocks. They tend to look like potatoes!

Frank,
Another little gem! Amazed at how much scene you produce on such small boards. Beautiful job.

You captured the sparkling water and wet sands..one of the trademarks of your seascape paintings, in my opinion.

I love this painting. As with so much of your work, you capture the quality of light beautifully. I can smell the salt air and hear the surf when I look at this. Being a Native Californian, I can relate to this scene! And I just bought your DVD Mastering Plein Air in Oil--it helped me so much to see the 'error of my ways' in my oil painting! Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us.
