"Crashing Waves" 6"x8"  Field Study
SOLD
I love the California Coast and as you can tell one
of my favorite places to paint.  Ever changing,
there is so much excitement with the surf crashing
over the rocks and sand to watching dolphins
frolic just off shore.  This particular painting is
one I did recently in Malibu at what is called
the "Channels."  The tide was starting to build
and the waves were crashing  spectacularly.

"Dog Beach" 8"x8" Oil on Linen

Saturday, October 22, 2011

I love painting near the coast and sometimes I
will find that subject that isn't a seascape.  Here
I found an old rowboat beached by low tide in
Newport Beach,  CA.   This literally was right
under my nose as I was walking over a small
bridge that is seen through the reflection in the
painting.

New

It has been a while since my last post,  I've been
wrapping up my workshop schedule and can't wait
to get out and paint.  The light is starting to
change and the weather is cooling off,  perfect
for painting "En Plein Aire!"

For those of you
asking about workshops please check back,  I
will be posting new stuff in late December or
early January!
